St. Peter's Church welcomes you! Known as 'The Church in the Fields' the church has one of the oldest Norman round towers in Norfolk and the rest of the building is a rare example of a complete Victorian rebuild with especially fine woodwork and stained glass. We are a 'Festival church' which means we provide a minimum of 6 religious services a year; as well as trying to make these services rather special we are developing a range of other uses for the building; a community hub, heritage centre, focus for wellbeing and an exemplar of nature recovery, based on our award winning conservation churchyard.

We have been fortunate to be awarded around £260,000 from the National Lottery Heritage Fund and other grants to carry out an extensive programme of repairs and improvements, including disabled access,an automatic door locking and opening device (the church is not currently open other than for events and services), sound system, welcome area and heritage interactive screen, heating and improved lighting, a water supply and equipped vestry utility area ('Building the Future: Repairing the Past'). The works are expected to begin in Autumn 2023 and be completed by Spring 2024. We are currently raising further funds to provide an all access indoor toilet and baby changing area and custom built kitchen/servery.
