The Church, built of ironstone and limestone, is the oldest building in the village dating from around 1200. A Grade 2* listed building, it stands on a mound at the heart of the village and is surrounded by handsome ironstone cottages and is adjacent to The Old Hall, a manor house, probably built in the late 16th or early 17th century.
Our aim, as set out in a Statement of Purpose, adopted by the Parochial Church Council on 26 September 2018, is to ensure there is regular Christian worship in St Peter’s Church for present and future generations. We are fortunate in being one of a small number of neighbouring Parishes to hold weekly Sunday services and are pleased to welcome visitors.
